Mr. David Holm, Kinkaid’s athletic director, teaches “Sports and Society,” a new class in the Upper School. The class, which is popular among the school’s athletes, is a part of the history department. “I think all students, those who love history and those who are lukewarm on the study of history, benefit from seeing historical times, events and movements presented through the window of sports,” Mr. Holm said.
Head football coach Nathan Larned watches as the Falcons take on the Second Baptist Eagles on Sept. 27 during the 2024 homecoming game. The Falcons beat the Eagles 21-7 for a homecoming win. “The whole goal is to continue to get better every week,” coach Larned said. “We got to treat every week that way. And if we do, we stack a good day on top of a good day and a good week on top of a good week, then we’ll get where we want to go.”
Boys cross country team arrives at Runners Workshop in Big Bear, California. The cross country team enjoyed training and team bonding over the course of 4 days. “This trip was an amazing bonding opportunity for our team.” said Junior Eli Mayer.
