AP Environmental Science class conducts lab in the backyard

Senior Caroline Swanson takes a photo of a yellow flower to add to her plant diversity list. She used the app “Picture This,” to snap the photo and save it. Once finished, she will calculate the abundance of the yellow flower within her specific area of the ecosystem.

Junior Unaisah Saeed takes a Parle-G biscuit from the dessert section of the South Asian Heritage Club Diwali feast. Parle-G is a popular Indian snack that is enjoyed globally. “My favorite part of the Diwali feast was definitely the food. There's always an awesome variety of snacks and dishes to try,” Saeed said.

Senior Haylie George, dressed as Superman, distributes candy to children participating in the annual Trunk-or-Trunk event at Kids’ Meals Houston. “I love coming to the event every year,” George said. “It’s always so fun to see how happy the kids are, especially since many of them are trick or treating for the first time.” A club member since her sophomore year, this is George’s third time attending the event.

As the sun begins to set, the Falcons prepare to play defense. It is the end of the 1st quarter and the score is tied at 7-7. The stakes are high as Gunter has a 32 game winning streak. The coaches create a game plan to keep the other team from winning.

Varsity players participating in painting each other's cars with window markers after a fun practice. Some cars said “state bound,” and “go kinkaid varsity lacrosse.” The Swanson family provided pizza for the team.
Girls' lacrosse players practice for SPC, decorate cars
As a Coca-Cola Scholar, senior Eshaan Mani was invited to Atlanta to participate in a weekend-long celebration and leadership development program. Mani poses wearing his Coca-Cola lanyard by the welcome sign in the Hilton Atlanta Airport, which was the main site of the weekend. “Most of the leadership development, games, and team building activities were held in the ballroom of the Hilton,” Mani said. “The only events outside the hotel were the opening banquet at the Georgia International Convention Center, a tour of the Center for Civil Rights and World of Coca-Cola and the final party at Coke headquarters.”
