The girls’ volleyball team traveled to Santa Fe High School for a tri-match Thursday, winning 2-1 against Marshall and 3-1 against Danbury.

The team dropped its final game against Ball High from Galveston.

Coach Desiree Elliot said she was proud of her girls. Multiple players were playing positions for the first time, she said.

Senior Anna Van Os has played on the team since freshman year and is embracing her leadership role as one of five seniors on the team.

“Everyone on the team stepped up and embraced their new roles,” Elliot said.

The team will travel back to Santa Fe on Saturday to build on its success in the Santa Fe Tournament.
