The Ogilvie Lobby buzzed with excitement at 12:45 with Kinkaid’s “lifers.”
Students who started attending Kinkaid in pre-K or kindergarten gathered for the annual Lifer Lunch.
“It was so funny seeing how much we have grown through the past years,” senior Walker Wood said.
Familiar faces filled the space as the seniors reminisced about memories from all the years they have spent together. They reflected on their shared journey from small classrooms and playground adventures to college applications and senior privileges.
“Thinking about where we all started and where we are now – applying to colleges and getting ready to leave this place we have been for so long – is crazy,” senior Libby Liuzzi said.
Many students who attended the lunch experienced many emotions.
“It honestly makes me feel sad but also excited for next,” senior Gayle Robertson said.
Laughter and memories flowed as the seniors swapped stories of favorite teachers, field trips and funny stories.
“I’ll never forget our sixth grade field trip to NASA,” Bennett Bowman said. “It was one of my favorite field trips. I had the best advisory group and exploring NASA with them was so much fun.”
Before and after lunch, seniors gathered to recreate photos from their lower and middle school years. The joy in those photos from the past matched the same energy that was in the room.
As lunch came to an end, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and bittersweet emotions.
“It’s hard to imagine not going to school here next year, while it’s sad it also is exciting to open the door to a new chapter of our lives,” senior Daphne Murray said.
