Sophomores Connor Peacock, Griffin Terrill, Cody Han, Ian Overman, and freshman Hudson Holton sit on the sideline during a soccer game. They all watched as the Kinkaid team made an offensive play against the Awty International School.
Freshmen Drewsie Willson, Sydney Reichman, and Marisol Rascoe wait by the register, ready for people to check out. They only accept cash as a form of payment. Members of the Sustainability Committee, Governing Council, and many other volunteers take turns helping out with the store.
A pink, sequined dress hangs from one of the three dress racks. The racks fill up fast, as dresses are quickly outgrown. “I had so many dresses I needed to get rid of and this was the perfect place to do that,” sophomore Lindley Bowman said.
Sophomores Ross Wynne, Tripp Kneale, and Fenley Flack browse through the T-shirt section. The thrift store offers a mix of fun, unique pieces and classic wardrobe staples. “I saw some really good quality stuff,” Kneale said.
Sophomore Takori Bradford tries on a pair of sunglasses, testing out his look. “I really like these, I don’t know what this bag is here for though,” Bradford said. The thrift store offers a wide array of accessories to explore.
Junior Millie Frankel poses with a frilly gold dress. “I went straight to the dresses because I needed to update my spring wardrobe,” Frankel said. The thrift store marks down the dress prices significantly.
Faculty members Angela Wainright and Nadine Ghosn use a shared break between classes to visit the thrift store. While browsing, they pause to examine a colorful striped sweater. The vibrant pattern catches both their eyes.
