Campus closes due to weather

The Kinkaid School will remain closed today Feb. 4, due to weather conditions. There will be no remote learning.

The Houston area saw below freezing temperatures starting on the evening of Feb. 2. A wind chill advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. today and the feels-like temperatures have been projected to be between 10 and 20 degrees, according to local news. Light sleet and freezing rain are possible.

Initially, the school’s administration opted for a late start, with a pep rally set for 10 a.m. and one-hour classes starting at 10:30. Mr. Jonathan Eades, head of school, wrote to the community at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 that school would be closed.

As of now, the faceoff against St. John’s is scheduled to take place, but Mr. Eades advised students to look out for further correspondence.

“Tomorrow we will communicate about scheduled after-school Friday activities, including athletics and arts,” Mr. Eades said.
