The Gordy Family Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Finance’s business program, a student-led initiative dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and financial literacy, announced its new leadership for the upcoming year.
Juniors Elizabeth Marshall and Hudson Holton were selected to take over as co-chief executive officers, leading the program with a fresh vision and a commitment to responsible financial stewardship.
“CLEF has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of business and finance,” Holton said, reflecting on the program’s impact on his business education.
As co-CEO, Holton said he sees his role as both an honor and a responsibility.
“I was honored to take on the role of co-CEO because it gives me a chance to help shape the direction of our portion of the Kinkaid endowment and make sure we’re being responsible stewards for this program’s future,” he said. “I look forward to working alongside Elizabeth and the rest of the team. Our goal this year is to make smart, well-researched decisions while also learning firsthand how financial management works in the real world.”
Marshall shared Holton’s enthusiasm and dedication to CLEF’s mission.
“I am so excited to take on being CEO with Hudson. After such a rigorous process to even get into the committee, it is a huge honor to know that they have such faith in me,” she said.
CLEF’s leadership selection process is highly competitive, requiring students to demonstrate financial acumen, leadership potential and strategic thinking. Marshall and Holton’s appointment reflects their strong capabilities and commitment to the program’s long-term success.
A defining feature of CLEF has been the real-world financial responsibility it entrusts to students. By managing a portion of the Kinkaid endowment, participants must analyze market trends, make investment decisions, and learn firsthand about financial sustainability. This responsibility teaches critical decision-making skills that are essential in business and finance careers.
A student-driven program guided by Dr. Ed Harris, CLEF has fostered teamwork and leadership, allowing students to collaborate on meaningful projects.
With a dedicated team behind them, Marshall and Holton have been placed in a position to build upon the legacy of previous leaders while shaping the future of CLEF. As they step into their new roles, their leadership will help prepare the next generation of students for success in the business world and beyond.
